Description
IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII), also known as p43, is a new cytokine that stimulates apoptosis in endothelial cells. IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII) is one of the three auxiliary components invariably associated with nine aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases as a multienzyme complex . IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII), recombinant , is a 34.3kDa polypeptide containing 312 amino acids, that induces cell death of endothelial cells in vitro (1) and demonstrates potent anti-angiogenic activity (2,3).

Formulation
IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII), recombinant, is supplied as a dried powder.

Optimal Biological Range
For most in vitro applications IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII) exerts its biological activity in the concentration range 1nM~1uM.

Reconstitution
Dried IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII) is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers and can be diluted into other buffered solutions and stored at -20¡ÆC for future use.

Source
Recombinant DNA expressed in E. coli.

Storage Temperature
Store dried IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII), desiccated at -20¡ÆC. Avoid exposure to frequent temperature changes. Store reconstituted IMG-EK (pro-EMAPII), in aliquots at -20¡ÆC. The performance of this product is guaranteed for at least six months from the date of purchase, if stored and handled properly.

Quality Control

Purity
>99% in SDS PAGE gel

Biological Activity
The ED50 for FGF, Basic, i.e., the concentration of factor that produces one-half the maximal response, is determined in a cytotoxicity bioassay using bovine aortal endothelial cells in DMEM with 10% FBS and MTT assay. The ED50 value obtained is reported on the Product Information Label affixed to this document.
